"Za spas srpstva" (Serbian Cyrillic: "За спас српства", lit. "For the Salvation of Serbdom") is a recital featured on Republiko Srpska and performed by an unknown person.
Music and lyrics
It is based on Kosovska kletva(Kosovo curse) with slightly altered lyrics. St. Lazar Hrebeljanović cursed the Serbs who didn't go to fight the Ottoman Empire in 1389.[1]
Lyrics
Lyrics:
Lyrics(English):
Whoever is Serb, of Serbian lineage, and did not go to fight for the salvation of serbdom, may his heart bear no seed, no name, neither son nor daughter born to his shame. From his hand let nothing living shine, no red wine flow, no white grain fine. May nothing be blessed with a cross for him. Let rust drip down through all his kin. Honorable battle, may evil blood be traded. For the future of all generations, I swear with three fingers by this holy cross. I give my life for the salvation of Serbdom.
