In the verse "Oj Alija, možeš li slanine/Da ti đedo sa tavana skine" Baja uses irony to create a double entendre. Slanina, translated as "bacon", is mentioned to provoke the Islamic faith as the consumption of the food is forbidden for Muslims. In addition, by specifically mentioning a grandfather is getting the bacon, Baja references the common belief that a majority of Bosnian Muslims are converted Christians, which further contextualizes the nationalistic character of the song. | |||
